Hello I am interested in knowing more about this phone.. Um it hasn’t come to Maine yet && I was wondering if you could give me some information on that because x-mass is coming up and that is the phone I want for x-mass. I saw it on the Straight talk website for wal-mart and I fell in love. Um, I am not sure where the location of this phone is right now but its not in Maine where I am so I was wondering if you could possibly help me out and email me with some information please heres a few emails for you.

I’ve just bought this beautiful phone, succesfully ported my old number from Verizon but after all of that I can’t seem to access my aol mail box. That’s the whole reason I wanted this phone. I get a message titled “unused”? Anyone know how to fix this? Straight talk’s Customer Service is a joke:(

Bjorn – The widgets are just links to web sites, basically. So the facebook “widget” just opens up the browser and goes to facebook.com. This should not be confused with an actual application. Here’s where I discussed the widgets:

Also, the Straight Talk version of this phone does not have GPS as far as I could tell. I don’t know if they took out the hardware for the Straight Talk version of this phone, or just disabled it in the software, but I couldn’t find it.

I read over almost everything I could find about the Finesse that is offered by Straight Talk. … also some that weren’t specifically set up for ST. So I’m a bit confused about which widgets are offered by ST’s Finesse. Could you please provide a list of the widgets that are available for it and perhaps comment further on the GPS or navigation system it incorporates and perhaps also what options I’d have for listening to Audio or Talking Books or perhaps even radio?

Also it was repeated several times that YouTube off the web video streaming is not available with the ST Finesse, however, I did read a review that stipulated that a video file can be downloaded and played back that way? … I guess there is also the issue transferring your existing cell phone phonebook to the ST Finesse too?

Can’t lie. The price tag is excruciating. But compare it to, say, getting the LG enV Touch on Verizon (which I was considering until I saw that this existed). You pay (a lot) more up front with this ST service, but in four months you recoup the cost of the phone versus paying for the same service with Verizon. (Similar plan from Verizon is about $90-ish a month.) After 12 months, you’ve saved $400 and you were never in a contract.

I’m not a cheerleader; I said all that to say this. What I’m afraid of is that the web browsing experience is going to be greatly diminished versus similar contracted models and that that is where the true price discrepancy lies.

If I can get a true browser (and not the dumbed down version of the interwebs that’s available on most phones) then I will just go ahead and sweat blood while I hand out the cash. ‘Cause I know I’m in it for the long game, and that I win. (Compared to a contract with Verizon, I save…um…let’s see…holy crap, $1000!)

So, the faster you can get a video of the browsing experience on here, the faster I’ll run (or won’t) to the store and hook it up. Not that you care.

I did want to say though, that I appreciate the time that you (pbushx2) take to do these reviews. I’ve been looking about for cell phone advice, and I hear different things from everywhere. It’s kind of a big decision (2-yrs., gawd, plus a deposit if necessary), so the advice you offer is material to saving people money and hassle. I may still go with the enV Touch and the Verizon contract if the browser sucks on the Finesse, but at least I’ll know I made an educated decision instead of always suspecting I got raped.
