Just bought one from Walmart.com. It was on “rollback” for $269. That made it a little easier to take the plunge. I have had straight talk for a few months now with a different phone to try it out and I have had no complaints.

Hi Kevin
Is there a setting somewhere in the menu that allows you to change the “usb mode?” I think it is supposed to be set to “USB disk” or “USB storage.” If it’s set instead to “USB modem” or something similar, that could be the problem. I don’t think the cable is the problem.
Unfortunately, I also can’t help you with the picture issue. I didn’t encounter that problem myself, and no longer own this phone.

Recently purchased the 810, so far so good. Few questions, I have an 8G card installed and am attempting to transfer music and pictures to phone. Tried with the usb cable and my PC doesnt recognize the phone as a flash drive, or even that it is connected – I did notice that it seems to be charging the phone as the “battery strength” bars are segmenting as when charging. Am I not doing something correctly? The phone memory is set to the card. I formatted the micro card in the phone when it was first installed, is this the problem? When this approach didn’t work I connected the card via a separate usb card reader directly to my PC and was able to transfer some music and jpeg pictures from a digital camera without any issue. After replacing the card into the phone it will recognize the music that I can play without problem, however it doesnt recognize the pictures – the image files are there, but the phone won’t show the picts. Are they in the wrong format? Each image is about 1.5M in size, is that too large for the phone? Also, any ideas why the cable transfer won’t work for me – is there a phone setting or software issue that I am missing or have wrong? (running XP Pro)

Incidently, it appears that the phone was being charged from the usb cable, so do I have the wrong cable? Do they make a cable that will only charge the phone from usb, but won’t transfer data?

Willie, I don’t have a Mac, but on my PC the phone simply attached as a removable storage drive, just like a flash drive. I didn’t need any special software. Also, my computers only recognized it if there was a microsd card installed.

I am hoping that there will not be any problems transferring vids and pics using my mac. I assume there is no software involved.

WillieJ – Try searching Amazon or Ebay for “Samsung Jack.” That model uses the same connector as the Finesse, and has compatible accessories.

Thanks for your quick response. I ordered one and then continued to read all your reviews which by the end said there are better bangs for your bucks. But I’ll see how it goes. They are supposed to have 30-day guaranteed or money back.

There are “No accessories available” for this device on straighttalk.com. How do I get a USB data cable and car charger?

WillieJ – The free shipping isn’t listed as free right away – it will show up on your order summary page, right before the final submission of your order. In other words, you’ll see the free shipping credited to your order BEFORE you have to finalize your order.

Also, Straight Talk, Net10, and TracFone pretty much treat CS and Tech Support as the same. If you get a ‘tech support’ person, they’ll do their best to answer your non-technical questions as well (such as questions about an order). If they don’t know the answer, they’ll forward your call to someone that does, or pass you on to their supervisor.

I am excited about the Finesse. I found that it is available on straighttalk.com and have put it in my cart. It says that it is free delivery by UPS Ground 3-day, but when I go to pay for it the only options are paid options. Tried to call StraightTalk and the message said that they cannot take the call and to try again later (not a good sign). Guess I should just go for it and pay the shipping.

Pbushx2 – what is your experience with customer service with StraightTalk? When I called there wasn’t even an option for CS, just tech support.
