By popular request, I’ve done a video of the browser on the Samsung Finesse Straight Talk version. This should be considered supplementary to my written review of the browser, which you can find here.

I also need to make a clarification on the functionality of Yahoo mail, which I discussed in that written browser review. On that post, I noted that message composition worked fine in the Finesse Browser. On further review, I had problems composing messages through the “regular” Yahoo mail application. Specifically, when I tried to enter text in the body of the email message, I the browser would not recognize that portion of the page as a text entry field. I was able to work around this by logging into the mobile version of Yahoo.com. I should also point out that Hotmail and Gmail both defaulted to the mobile version, and everything worked fine on those browsers.

The Samsung r810, also known as the r810 finesse, is coming soon to the Straight Talk prepaid wireless service. This phone has been rumored for a few months now, and there is finally concrete evidence to substantiate those rumors.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be gathering information about this model and sharing it here. I’ll try to get my hands on one for a review as soon as I can. For now, here’s a list of some of the features:

• 2.0 megapixel camera

Those are a few of the features I expect to see on this phone. There’s no word yet on when it might be available, but I’ve been checking the Straight Talk site regularly. It seems there has been some movement regarding this phone during the last week of November, so I expect Straight Talk is preparing to release it soon.
